Landscape Foreman Position

Pay Range: $18- $30 per hour, bonus option dependent on performance

Benefits:  After (60) days employment—you are eligible to receive the following benefits:

  • Medical—70% paid by company toward the base plan, 30% employee contribution

Required Qualifications
  • 4+ years direct landscape foreman experience
  • Class III driver’s license
  • Clean driver’s record—no more than (1) point
  • Fluent in English language
  • Knowledge of Spanish terminology/trade jargon
  • 4+ years irrigation experience
  • Working knowledge of drainage & grading techniques & implementation
  • Basic horticulture knowledge—soil structure & amendment techniques
  • Plant identification knowledge
Desired Qualifications
  • CLT certification
  • Heavy equipment operation
  • Skilled in one or more crafts—wood, metal, stone work
Job Description

General

  • Daily communication with owner.
  • Assist in ongoing operations & administration.
  • Review contracts & estimates with project designer, or manager—Scheduling.
  • Understand each phase of a project—Project Planning.
  • Make requests for any special equipment or tooling needed for a project.
  • Make logical suggestions that may expedite the completion of a project.
  • Project preparation—truck/tools/materials.
  • Report on daily progress with projects & track with Job Ticket form.
  • Track task hours as they correspond to bid numbers—Contract monitoring.
  • Record crew member hours on jobs & coordinate on their time sheets.

Equipment operation & construction procedures

  • Pass company drivers test, maintain truck weekly, stock truck daily.
  • Have the ability & knowledge of the safe and effective use of general hand tools.
  • Have the ability & knowledge of the safe and effective use of power equipment such as chain saws, roto-tiller, trencher, drills, drivers, etc.
  • Ability and or willingness to operate small earth moving equipment such as skid steer, loader, fork-lift or backhoe.
  • Proficient at reading and interpreting drawn landscape construction plans.
  • Knowledge and the application of the many landscape construction and maintenance techniques and procedures.

Crew supervision

  • Lead weekly safety meetings.
  • Layout & plan work for crew members.
  • Instruct & inform individual crew members as to procedures and methods to complete tasks more efficiently and safely.
  • Work hands-on with crew to maintain a positive and effective work environment.
